ADD A FUNCTIONAL SPREADSHEET TO TOOLBOOK

This is something I wrote back when ToolBook 5 was out. It started out to be a sort of Table object, but then I decided that resizable columns would be nice, then simple calculations, then I went totally overboard and added 72 Excel compatible functions, formatting, built in help, etc.

It was an adventure and a challenge, all written in OpenScript, and functions with the use of a System book.

It is not perfect, and I have not looked at the code in it for years, but if you have ever wondered how to approach such a task, rip this one apart to see how it works. Heck, modify the code to suite your needs.

Authors are permitted to create Spreadsheets, and end-users are permitted to edit the cells - add formulas, etc.

DOWNLOAD SPREAD.SBK

  • This download contains one .SBK file and one version.txt file.

  • You can examine how it works, by looking at all the OpenScript code. You may find it useful to use the Tools menu to access the Dump Scripts option in order to see all the code I wrote.
