adding YOUR OWN OBJECTS TO THE CATALOG

The catalog in ToolBook 8.x has the ability to let you add your own objects. This is very handy for those times when you spend precious time customizing some object, such as a button, with just the right size, color, font, caption, etc...and you don't want to have to recreate it over and over. Just create it once and then add it to your catalog. In this way you can drag a copy out of the catalog whenever you like.

To add an object to the catalog, simply select that object and then right click on the My Objects category and choose the option which says Add Selected Object to Catalog.

.

This option will not be enabled if you have more than one object selected. If you really want to add more than one object to the catalog and have them added as a single catalog object, you will need to first GROUP the objects and then select the resulting GROUP object before trying to add it to the catalog.

ToolBook will automatically create a miniature picture (icon) of the object you are adding to the catalog to use in the Catalog view. Sometimes the resulting icon that gets added to the catalog leaves much to be desired, however it will still look great when you drag the real object out of the catalog later.

Although you are permitted to add the object to any category you like, I would suggest you stick to putting your own objects in your My Objects category (as this is what was made for) or put it in a new category you create.
